Ubuntu Linux Installation Requires:
- Rooted Samsung Galaxy S III (GUIDE)
- Kernel with loop support
- Omega 4.0 ROM
- Enable USB debugging by going to “Settings > Developer options”
- Ubuntu Installer [DOWNLOAD]
- android-vnc-viewer [DOWNLOAD]
- Terminal Emulator [DOWNLOAD]
- BusyBox [DOWNLOAD]
- Ubuntu.sh [DOWNLOAD]
Steps to Install Ubuntu Linux On Galaxy S III
Step 1:
Download Ubuntu.sh from above link and copy it directly to /sdcard (i.e. root directory).
Step 2:
Open ‘Terminal Emulator’ and type the following commands:
su
cd /sdcard/ubuntu
sh ubuntu.sh
Step 3:
Then type in the following resolution
1280×720
And type Y to save this as default resolution.
Step 4:
Now terminal will request for a passcode. So enter Ubuntu twice as your password.
Step 5:
Now exit the “Terminal Emulator” and open VNC Viewer. Enter the following info as given in screenshot below:
Step 6:
At the last, just tap on Connect.
