Intel Wireless Charging for Smartphones and Ultrabooks will come in 2013. DigiTimes reports that Intel is working on over-the-air induction technology to wirelessly charge Intel powered smartphones, which will be able to take low power electricity from air to charge the smartphone’s battery. According to source this technology is safe, and has a standard in the Wireless Power Consortium’s Qi method.
Both NTT Docomo and Sharp have already released devices which charge wirelessly through the Qi standard in Japan, but due to excessive costs user are fare away from these devices. What would be the cost of Intel’s wireless charging technology? To see this we only have to wait until 2013.
